6 Months to Go

I have started my 2nd to last semester and I am eagerly looking forward to graduation in July. I just can't wait until I am working again, full time. Jarod, on the other hand is happily sleeping in and taking his time throughout the day to accomplish things around the complex and the apartment. I will have yet another full load this semester with 17 credits of work to do. This will be a very busy one for more than one reason. Jarod also wants to get in some skiing while I am away throughout the week, and as long as he takes in extra hours to pay for his fun, I will happily encourage him away from the television and game stations.

Happy Anniversary

As of yesterday, Jarod and I are no longer newlyweds... though Jarod did say that we will be newlyweds for our entire life. We weren't able to go out to dinner or really celebrate our anniversary and it didn't seem all that different of a day. We got Jarod Rockband, and I got a Build-a-Bear... Jarod saw a Batman outfit while we were there and just had to get a bear to dress up as well. School starts on Wednesday and soon this semester will be over in a whirlwind. Blink again and Jarod and I will be married for another year.

Christmas Surprises

This year for Christmas, Jarod wanted to spoil me. He refused to let me spend much of our Christmas money on him, and tried to surprise me with bigger gifts. I say tried because he isn't that great of a 'surpriser'. As early as October, we would be wandering through Sam's Club and he would stop at a Kitchenaid Mixer. He would call his mom and ask her if it was a better deal than most. Right then I got the impression that that was one thing he was going to get me. When I confronted him on such a matter, he of course denied it profusely. When we visited his family in Boise we went for a little Christmas shopping. I was sent away with my sister-in-law and Jarod took off with his Mother. When we hooked back up, he wanted to show me the blue Kitchenaid Mixer from Williams- Sonoma. I said it was pretty and that I would like something like that... all the while thinking that he had already gotten it for me. We took home a gift he had bought that day and it was big and heavy and -wouldn't you know it - it was from Williams-Sonoma too!
Christmas arrived and I opened my big gift, can you guess what I got? You see, It is so hard to surprise me because I will catch on to little comments and tones in other's voices. Below are a few pictures of what we got for Christmas this year.

The rest of what we got for Christmas from our families were things like an xbox and wii fit from my family, and a set of new tires, pottery barn dishes, and new fender flares for Jarod's truck, and extra cash from Jarod's family. Jarod's sister got us a candy dish/jar, and Ryan got us candy and something for a Nintendo DS. Konnor got me a few baby sign items and Jarod another action figure. All in all, we had a great Christmas and it was so much fun seeing our families.

Happy New Year

Jarod was supposed to work last night until 10pm. I had a friend from work come over to watch some of the tv shows that my dad put on an xbox for us as a Christmas gift. We started Numb3rs and then put in a movie. Jarod came home early and joined us for our girls night out. At last we turned the tv to a station covering the dropping of the ball, and wished everyone a happy new year. My family has never been big on the New Year traditions... but Jarod really likes to watch what he can on the tube. I was just happy that the students weren't in town to bang the pots and pans out in the street like they do back home. We called it a night, and I convinced that friend to come over today to help finish off the job I started out on the sidewalks. There was no use doing anything but where the post man would want to walk, and after a total of 5 more hours (combined) we happily hopped in the car to get something hot to eat for lunch. I just hope the weather will give us a break and start warming up even the slightest... a far off dream for the likes of Rexburg.
