4 Months Prego Picture

You can't see much, but I definitely feel the difference and I know that it will only start getting worse. The only comfort I have in gaining more than the recommended weight is because when I started they said my BMI put me in the underweight category and I need to gain just a little more than the average pregnant girl.

New Maternity Clothes

Jarod is all for getting me a few new things to aid in the process of getting bigger. I bet it's just because he thinks pregnant girls are hot. Anyway, we went to Down East Outfitters to look for some new pants since my only pair has seen better days. I didn't find any that I liked, but I did find a cute polka dotted shirt. Jarod said I could try it on and if I liked it, I could get it. I tried on a few sizes but the only one that really fit comfortably was a size 8. Come to find out the shirt is originally supposed to be a little girl dress... go figure. I still bought it because I think it is cute, and the cashier said that a few other students have gotten it for the same reason. It isn't so obvious to me. Here is my 'shirt'.

Spoiled? Maybe Just A Little

Jarod's birthday will be this Saturday. He will be turning 23 years old, though he claims it isn't much to look forward to. At the beginning of the semester, I found out about a field trip I would be taking as part of my preschool class. We would be taking a van through Idaho towards BYU in Provo. On the way we would be visiting the different preschools that have been running throughout the years. We would be leaving on March 12. As the date started getting closer, I realized I would be gone for the majority of Jarod's birthday. As soon as he realized this as well, he got fairly disappointed. He stated that this would be the worst birthday ever... even worse than the ones he had on his mission. I said it wouldn't be all that bad, besides, he wasn't there for my first birthday when we were initially together. He pointed out that on that day at least I wasn't alone - I had my family. Here in Rexburg he would have no one. I started feeling bad about not being here for him, so I started to devise a plan. I emailed my family and his and gave birthday ideas that could get to him on his birthday. I looked for things I could get him for his birthday - though we already got him a pretty expensive car stereo earlier in the year when it went on sale. Then we found out that his grandmothers would be coming down to visit and would take him out to dinner Saturday night. I also planned to have my friend get him an ice cream cake to be delivered on his lunch hour. In the end he will get the stereo, a video game, a movie, an action figure, a movie trilogy, and a TV documentary. Not to mention a visit from family and a fresh cake he can enjoy as a surprise. I will be home from my field trip around 10 that evening so I will be able to celebrate his birthday with him as well. Spoiled? Maybe just a little.

Belated Valentines Day

I took pictures of the main parts of our Valentines Day, but I forgot to post them. We went to dinner at Chilis the night before Valentines and then went to a dinner that was supposed to be catered by Winger's. This dinner was hosted by our ward, and Jarod only went because of the free food. I thought it was fun, and yeah we still got free food even though it wasn't from Winger's. Valentines Day, Jarod came home from work with a bouquet of flowers, and I made him brownies with some chocolate milk.

Ohhhh Positive?

Today in my pregnancy class we discussed the problems that occur with the mother being Rh- and giving birth to a baby with Rh+. I got to wondering what I was and I ended up calling the clinic to find out about the blood work done on Thursday. Turns out I have nothing to fear because I was Rh+. During my class we also discussed blood types and I have never found out my blood type. Turns out I have what 40% of the population has. I am O+. We were talking about the likelihood of being RH- depending on blood type and a girl who works as a nurse stated she was O- but she never got a shot to help her out in being Rh-, the professor asked if she was sure she was O negative and the girl assured her she felt positive. I chuckled as this conversation continued. "Are you sure you are negative?" "I'm positive!"

It's Just the Start...

I went to my second doctor's appointment on Thursday and I went in feeling terror... I knew I would be getting blood work done, along with a physical. I hate going to the doctor's office - in fact I don't ever remember going without crying a little before hand. I didn't necessarily cry, but when I went into the examination room, I started getting a little emotional as Jarod claimed that he would rather get stuck with a needle than stub his toe. (He stubbed his toe a few days earlier and it had just stopped bleeding) I said that when you get hurt on accident it is a surprise and you can't avoid it. I guess you can't avoid getting blood work done when you are pregnant, but at the same time, you know the needle will be sticking you and the thought of that initial pain is what gets me. I don't mind it so much after, it is just the idea of inflicting pain on myself knowingly that I hate. I guess that is why I hate bees and other creatures that I know will bite or hurt me. If I can avoid the pain, I will. At least the initial blood work has been completed. I don't know how many more times I will have to go through that stage, but I can now look forward to a month of no shots or needle pricks.
