I am currently taking one class on campus right now. It is a children's literature class that requires us to read 25 picture books and the rest adding up to 65 children's novels. Seeing as I am an over-achiever I put in extra books into the picture book section because I own a lot of them. My new total had me at 95 books total and I was worried I may not get them all read before they were due. We read the book and then write a half page to a page summary including other information like the publication info, recommendation, how we would teach that book and so on... Needless to say, my fears were nothing to worry about. I have a total of 12 books left to read before the end of the semester when the class has to turn in 31 by May 29th. I have had a lot of fun reading and the books were easy enough to read to keep me changing books every other day. The most recent one I finished was Stargirl. This book was fun to read, but in the end it was sort of not what I expected. I guess I had hoped for something more. Not that I didn't like the book, but rather I would have written it differently. Some of the other ones I have read include: The Boxcar Children, Just Ella, Catherine Called Birdy, and Frindle.
