The events of January 4th started out bright and early. I had a few appointments to make before I had to show up for the wedding. I was surprisingly calm. I made it to the temple on time and waited for the groom to show up. and waited... Finally we called and made sure he was on his way. We were set on our way to get married for all time and eternity. As we waited for our turn, we talked in hushed whispers about what were about to do. There was no going back now, and neither one of us had the idea to do so.We were told all the same things others have been told... about caring for one another no matter what. We went outside for pictures and were greeted by our friends and family. I remember feeling like none of it was real. Even now when I think back to what happened it doesn't even feel like I went through it.
That day went by in a blur. I had barely any time to relax. We went from the temple to the luncheon to the reception. At the reception we took another load of pictures and greeted people as they arrived. We got ready for a ring ceremony for those who could not take part in the sealing. A girl I taught from preschool was my flower girl. She got shy as soon as everyone had their eyes on her... it made the whole evening more memorable.
Our wedding was perfect. I loved being able to dance with my dad as well as my new husband. People ask me all the time how is married life... I always answer that it was the same as our courtship but now we have someone we come home to.
